After the steadfastness of the monks of the newly established military monastic Order of St. Sophia helped Emperor Manuel Komnenos to win the battle of Myriocephalus, Byzantium became one of the centers of military monasticism. Женская схима Благодатного Огня, была создана для борьбы с колдовством и ересью, и первого и второго в северных землях было достаточно. Ника приняла постриг 6 лет назад, но этот поход, за Камень, к мертвому, утонувшему в болотах городу, у нее 1-й.
